Find answers to common questions about creator rights, ownership, licensing, funding, revenue, and publishing on Voobin.
Creator Rights and Licensing
Do I retain ownership and copyright of my film after uploading it to Voobin?
Yes. You retain 100% ownership and copyright of your original film, story, characters, world-building, artwork, and other intellectual property. You can also remove your work from Voobin if you no longer feel comfortable having it on the platform.
What license do I give Voobin when I upload my film?
You grant Voobin permission to host, display, stream, and promote your work on the platform. Uploading your work does not transfer ownership or copyright to Voobin.
Can I publish or distribute the same film on other platforms?
Voobin is still in an early stage, and the licensing options are not finalized yet. The current plan is to let creators choose whether their work is exclusive or non-exclusive. With a non-exclusive option, you would remain free to publish, distribute, monetize, or license the same work on other platforms and distribution channels.
Does Voobin transfer my rights to third parties, investors, advertisers, or partners?
No. Voobin does not transfer ownership of your work to third parties. Your ownership rights remain with you. Any future third-party use beyond the permissions you grant to Voobin would need to follow the applicable creator agreement and permissions.
Publishing and Managing Content
Is there a Creator Agreement for filmmakers uploading to Voobin?
Yes. Filmmakers can review the Creator Agreement before publishing on Voobin. The agreement explains the applicable terms for creator rights, licensing, funding, monetization, and use of the platform. Because Voobin is still in beta, some terms and platform features may be updated over time, so creators should review the latest version before publishing or using funding-related features.
What rules apply to AI-generated films and AI-generated assets?
Voobin does not currently have a separate detailed policy specifically for AI-generated content. Creators should upload work they have the right to use and should not violate another person's copyright, intellectual property, identity, likeness, or voice rights.
Can I remove my film from Voobin?
Yes. You can remove your work from Voobin, and the public content will be disabled. If the work has associated revenue, funding, or transaction records, Voobin may need to retain limited records or snapshots for accounting, payment, legal, or record-keeping purposes.
Revenue and Funding
How will creator revenue and payments work?
The creator revenue system is still being finalized. The current plan is similar to platforms such as YouTube, with creator revenue potentially coming from advertising, subscriptions, donations, and other monetization features. Revenue share percentages, payment methods, minimum payouts, and payment schedules have not been finalized yet.
How does creator funding work?
The funding system is still being developed. The current plan is to allow viewers and supporters to help fund a creator's next episode or project. Supporters may receive benefits such as priority or early access to watch funded content. The final funding rules, supporter rights, and creator obligations are still being finalized.
Early Creators and Badges
What does the Early Creator or Creator Badge Forever provide?
Early Creators will receive recognition as early members of the platform and are planned to receive priority access to creator funding features. Additional badge benefits and conditions may be added as Voobin develops.
